Borrego Springs, California

Last week we went over to Borrego Springs and parked off Rockhouse Rd.  Borrego Springs is an interesting place.  When driving around we came upon these very large metal sculptures.  We knew they were around this area so we went looking for them.  Wow, someone sure has vision and talent.

If you look closely you can see the road between hump 2 and 3.

This is how you get metal to look like fur.

This isn't the best picture but I wanted you to see how big they are.

Let's not forget that they grow dates as well as citrus.

We went to Borrego Springs because there is great dry camping areas there and because it isn't very far from Julian, CA. where we met my daughter Maggie and her boyfriend Joseph for lunch and pie. Yumm.

We only stayed in that area for 4 nights and then it was over to Quartzsite, AZ. for the big rv extravaganza which I will talk about next time.

I'll be back in a few days.

  2. I've added those sculptures to my 'must do' list.
The man with grapes is very impressive. Such skill it is to have a vision then the ability to build it.

Great art helps keep us all a little more civilized.

How in the world have those pieces escaped being tagged, sprayed or bent out of shape? It's shocking that I would even have such a thought but it's the time we live in.

It's terrific that you two continue meeting pals and family along your adventures.

    Carry on,
