Catching Up

Today's pictures don't have anything to do with the blog story.

We haven't had reliable internet for almost a month so I haven't been able to blog.  Sorry about that. And also sorry to my cousins south of ABQ and friends from Los Alamos that we weren't able to get together with, we just ran out of time.

After Utah we went back to the Albuquerque area for a few days and it was very warm, even with electrical hook-ups and running the air conditioning it was still to hot for me so we moved the rv up in the mountains above Santa Fe for a few days and then we headed to much higher ground.

For the last week we have be in the Parry Peak campground in Colorado, at about 8400' elevation.  Nice and cool.  My friend DeDe is camp hosting here so not only are we cool but we get to visit too.  Last week I drove DeDe into Colorado Springs, 2.5 hours away, to buy a car for her to tow behind her rv.  We left the campground at about 8am and got home at 8:30 pm.  But the most important thing was we did find her a car to tow and all is well in her world.  The Parry Peak cg is outside of Leadville, CO with lots to see and do.

  1. ....and the adventure continues.....fantastic.

Ran out of time? You two have nothing but time....and credit cards.

Seems as though you left down there just in time. Record breaking ridiculous temps are happening. Inhuman conditions as far as I'm concerned.

    Great photos.
    What a fascinating moth.
Sure glad you bought that camera attachment. I'll bet you are too.

    Are you hearing many coyotes?

I hope someday to be that close to a beaver hut and dam. Truly amazing creatures....well really, all creatures are pretty darn amazing each in their own unique way.

Lots of sunny, warm days here. My garden is delighted.

Have heard it's the usual 'too damn hot' days in ya'lls old stompin' grounds.
Maybe someday you'll get back within a decent driving distance so we can eyeball one another again.

    Happy trails.

  2. It is getting hotter and hotter here. You were smart to head to higher ground. Hope it will stay cooler at Parry Peak. Happy Birthday! Sorry we missed you this trip.
