Monterey Bay and its Aquarium

Mom and I drove from Quartzsite to Monterey, CA. to meet up with some friends.  One friend from San Francisco and one from Willits.  The first daythere mom and I drove along the coast.

The next day I met up with my friends and we went to the aquarium.

Jellies

Sardines swimming in a big circle.

Sand dollars.

Red octopus and friends.

Sea turtle, hammerhead shark and friends.

We stayed at the Laguna Seca Raceway campground.
View from rv, you can see a bit of the racetrack.

We'll be back soon.

  1. Photos look great.
So nice and mostly rare you had sunny, somewhat warm days for your adventure.
I gaze with mixed feelings when viewing photos of my old homestead.
How wonderful you continue to have such marvelous rendezvouses with your pals all over the western USA.
Next time you go to that area I'll try to get there to show you all the hidden 'locals' spots and treasures. You know me.....I'm full of it...er...information, that is.
    Happy trails.

  2. Great photos, thanks for posting them. What kind of racing goes on there? Some type of car racing?

    1. Yes, Kyra, car racing. Laguna Seca is a "road track", meaning the track is about 4 cars wide and snakes its way over hills and dales. Mostly sports car type cars.

  4. One of my fav places. I lived there a couple years four blocks from the Aquarium. I learned to kayak there... Montery Bay Kayaks. Go to Fishermans Wharf. If you are going south I can tell you some other places I like.
